Technical Intern - First Year

We are seeking a motivated individual with a

passion for defining, implementing, and supporting cloud software delivery

cultures, tools and processes. This person should have working knowledge of

DevOps principles, culture, and related tools. If you have worked in

GIT/GITLab, Docker/containers and had working exposure to Jenkins, GitlabCI, or

equivalent continuous build and continuous integration tools and strategies,

have excellent analytical and customer support skills, and a passion for tools,

builds, and engineering environments, we want to talk with you! Working closely

with our engineering development teams across the US and Internationally, you

will help develop and support tools used by hundreds of engineers.

Position Description:

While helping in the implementation

of our cloud software delivery process, tool chain and culture, you will have

opportunities to combine your technical ability, strategic thinking and

detail-oriented execution in a fast-paced, dynamic, engineering environment.

Your work will contribute to the design and management of world-class DevOps

based tools and processes, while continuing to automate more and more processes

that will support both Cloud and licensed product development.

The candidate chosen will help

automate and streamline development processes and help automate tedious

processes – automate automate automate! They will work in Jira and Confluence

as well as work in both Kanban and Scrum Agile methodology. The candidate

can expect to work in an environment where the team is collaborative and open

to new innovative ideas to meet our goals, while keeping engineering and

  • Assist

in development of new tools to achieve a completely automated continuous

software delivery process and tool chain across areas like source code

management, automated builds, continuous integration, continuous deployment

  • Assist

in the deployment of new Docker containers.

  • Assist

in troubleshooting customer issues across multiple platforms as well as

products in use.

  • Assist

in the design, implementation, and maintenance of new tools to support software

development environments.

  • Prepare

and maintain documentation for both customer consumption and internal support

of tools and processes

Desired Experience

  • Experience

in GIT/GITLab preferred, but any source control system experience a plus

  • Experience

working in virtualization utilizing VMware, KVM and Oracle VM’s

  • Infrastructure

provisioning tools (such as Docker, Chef, Puppet, etc…)

  • Knowledge

of the Linux, UNIX, Windows operating system.

  • Experience

with UNIX shells (e.g. BASH, etc)

  • Course

work or experience in DevOps environment a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Interprets internal/external

business issues and recommends solutions based on best practices and proven


  • Monitor customer support system and

resolve or escalate issues as appropriate.

  • Positive customer service skills and

strong skills in multi-tasking and context switching.

  • Keep documentation up to date,

including confluence pages.

  • Demonstrate the ability to clearly

articulate ideas, analysis, issues to team, stakeholders, and management

  • Experience Java, shell scripting, Perl a plus, REST

Summary of Qualifications:

A major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical

Engineering or similar major with at least 3.75 GPA; strong work ethic, and

high integrity.

Preferred Candidate is able towork full time for Summer/Fall semesters of 2018!
