PPD Associate Director, Global Clinical Supplies in Morrisville, North Carolina

Amazing opportunity to join PPD as a global leadership role that will direct and lead the Clinical Supplies department from North America! This is an opportunity that does not come up often. This is a position that can work from home anywhere within the United States or office-based at a PPD location.

Directs all global aspects of the Global Clinical Supplies department and ensures that projects are conducted in accordance with sponsor's requirements. Establishes and maintains executive level contact both internally and externally to ensure service levels are maintained and clearly communicated. Provides global clinical supply solutions and strategies for internal and external projects that are cost effective and efficient. Acts as a liaison with both internal and external clients in the provision and marketing of Global Clinical Supplies. Responsible for the maintenance, oversight, and global contracting of third party providers. Provides direct management and support to the Clinical Supply regional Managers and staff.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a science (Pharmacy, Biology, Chemistry)

  • 8 years in the clinical research industry

  • 8 years of hands on clinical supply operations and third party vendor management experience

  • 8 years of line management experience

  • cGMP, GCP, GDP, and ICH knowledge and experience essential

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Direct experience with the clinical supply operations:

    o Facility maintenance and certification

    o Identifying, Hiring, and Maintaining Staff

    o Distribution planning and storage

    o Inventory planning and storage

    o Import and export planning

    o Destruction scheduling, authorization and tracking

  • Very strong communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and problem solving/decision making skills.

  • Demonstrate effective leadership and team building skills.

  • Strong computer skills: working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, and Microsoft Word is required.

  • Ability to design, present, and implement specific plans to ensure high quality products and services and to ensure that all tasks maintain defined timelines to meet the goals of the study.

  • Strong organizational skills required.

  • Strong multi-tasking skills required.
