In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Be the SAS thought leader with respect to the evolving practice of IT

  • Define and lead the SAS community engagement strategy for IT audiences

  • Define, represent, and advocate for the persona, use cases, and general product requirements relevant to the IT community internally to SAS to influence product development, direction, and strategy

  • Drive awareness of SAS within the IT community through direct engagement, coordination, and oversight of corporate-wide outreach efforts

  • Author content to help build, support, and nurture the online presence of SAS within the IT community

  • Provide oversight and guidance to marketing and messaging efforts targeting the IT community

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to rapidly research, learn, apply, explain, and promote new software concepts and technologies

  • Strong, self-motivated organizational skills including the ability to define, work, and manage multiple priorities, commitments, schedules, and deadlines independently

  • Ability to understand and apply detailed technical knowledge while relating it back to the big picture

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, engineering, or in closely related fields

  • At least two years of relevant job experience in software-based IT roles such as administration, architecture, security, deployment, and devops

  • At least two years of extensive, applied experience using modern techniques, methodologies, and technologies around concepts such as curl, REST, containers, orchestration, events, and public cloud platforms to meet business objectives

  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills with people of varied technical backgrounds

  • Ability and willingness to travel and represent SAS as a thought leader

  • Ability to translate the issues and pain points of IT practitioners into product and service requirements

  • Ability to participate in and lead virtual teams without direct authority using excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills

Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in place of the education requirement stated above.

Preferences:

  • Two years of experience in Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Consulting, or related functions in the software industry

  • Experience leading IT teams to deliver projects on time and on budget

  • Experience working directly with SAS software, especially in deploying, administering, and maintaining SAS products and solutions

  • Experience developing, delivering, and executing business proposals
