What you’ll be doing...
Responsible for designing scalable solutions to monitor global customer networks and services. Support team with developing and implementing the solution. Lead production support team providing 7x24 coverage to mission critical applications and onboarding of new applications and products. Provide project leadership to ensure delivery within established budgets and schedules. Make architectural decisions, break down large system requirements into manageable parts for web portal, autoprovisioning, monitoring, and root-cause analysis applicable to network management applications. Review and assess and design proposals presented by the vendor. Researching ‘off-the-shelf’ products to evaluate efficacy versus developing in house solutions. Coordinate, participate and develop testing cycles between multiple teams making sure systems meet Verizon quality and security standards. Integrate network management platform including VZ METAL infrastructure, SevOne, Actual Experience, Microsoft System Center Suite, Optanix, EMC SMARTS, Aruba Airwave. Interface with software development teams for developing software components for network device element monitoring and support applications. Interface with Network Fault and Performance Management teams to ensure that their requirements are fulfilled. Produce detailed architectural design and specifications document.
What we’re looking for...
Master's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science and/or Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology or related field and 2 years of experience analyzing, designing, implementing, and troubleshooting managed services tools including SevOne, Actual Experience, Microsoft System Center Suite, Optanix, EMC SMARTS, and Aruba Airwave. In lieu of a master's degree and 2 years of experience, employer will accept a bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in the fields above followed by 5 years of progressive experience in the above skill sets. Experience therein to include 2 years of experience with Python, Java, PowerShell programming languages, Unix, Linux, and Windows Operating Systems. Must Reference: Job #SA1-W
